We had a great Christmas this year. It was great to be able to spend it with each other even though we weren't able to spend it back home in Idaho! We love and miss you all and hope that your holidays are filled with love and wonderful memories! <3

Christmas Time! Yay!

So with Christmas being my favorite holiday, I am usually SO excited by now for the holiday season! But living in Arizona has messed with my head a little bit! It's still 80 degrees outside and that makes me think its summertime in Idaho! :) So after Thanksgiving came and went and I wasn't feeling any more festive, I decided to take matters into my own hands! I decorated the house yesterday, plugged in my Scentsy Snowberry Bar and guess what? Today I'm finally EXCITED for Christmas! :) I just can't look outside or it ruins it! haha!
We are all doing well down here! Shawn is at camp this week, which is bittersweet. I miss him and hate being alone, but I did get a LOT of housework done that I don't have the chance to do while he's home!
Reggie has caught his 2nd wind I think! He's been so silly lately! He runs and plays like a puppy and it's so cute! Stack is a little pouty. He had fun playing with Zoey at first but he's not so sure about her anymore. Karma is a crazy thing, now she nips and chases him exactly like he did to Reggie and he's not liking being on this end of it! :)
Zoey is CrAzY. She makes me laugh all day long (and sometimes swear, because she just can't quite get the potty training thing figured out) but mostly laugh. She's so full of energy and she really is too smart for her own good. Her little personality is too fun.
Other than that, we are just living life day to day and hoping that all is well for our family and friends. We miss you all!

Rough couple weeks....

It's been a rough couple weeks here at the Staples household. We were just a few weeks away from opening the day spa, and due to some issues that were brought to the surface, and my business partner and I were not seeing eye to eye, so I knew I had to get out before it got any worse. I went through my phases of disappointment and sadness, but thanks to the support of my wonderful husband and family, I realized, it's only a minor setback for me. Someday I will open the spa I've dreamed about, and when I do, I will know not to make the same mistakes made this time. God has a different plan for me and I will trust that!

So for now, it's back to job searching. :( Ugh... and it hasn't been easy. I've applied for 14 jobs and so far not even and interview. It would be much easier if I could speak spanish (since that is a requirement for many of the open jobs here in Casa Grande).

Thankfully I have been able to start as a makeup artist for Motives Cosmetics, and although it's not a full time salary NOW, it has the potential to be in the near future. I'm very excited about the opportunities I will have, including wedding makeup, photo shoots, tv/film, and training as well!

So I just need to find another part time "something" for a while.

Otherwise~

All is well with Shawn, Reggie, Stackhouse, Zoey, and myself. I'm getting very excited for the holidays. With the holidays, however, I'm missing our family very much. I wish we could be home to celebrate with you!

Catching Up...

Things have been crazy lately in our household! We recently took a trip home to Idaho to visit family and friends! We drove the whole way with 3 dogs, but they did great! Reggie LOVES riding in the car and spent the trip pacing back and forth in the back seat looking out the windows and took a few naps in between. Stack HATES riding in the car and spent the entire trip on the floor in the back with his head tucked under the seat. And Zoey got to take turns between sitting in my lap and riding in her kennel. She did really well on her first trip! While we were home we got to spend time with both our families...we met baby Tessa, Brandon and Heathers daughter. She's super cute! See? :)

We were also home for Bailie's 17th Birthday. Here are some pictures from the night of her party!

We also spent a LOT of time at the Pressbox... (Shawn's favorite spot) The last weekend there, Malek and Emily and Cole drove down from Boise to see us. It was a fun night!

VACATION!

I've been slacking again on my posts! SORRY! But I hope you'll all enjoy this one! We are very excited that next Thursday after Shawn gets home from work, we will be on our way to Idaho for 10 days! We hope to get to see you all! :)

Busy Week!

This week is my busiest week yet doing massages! I'm very excited about all the fabulous ladies I've met lately, and appreciate their continued support! I am almost all booked for the week, and it's only Monday! :) Shawn is home from camp and has a few days off! He goes back to work on Wednesday.
I took Zoey to the vet this morning to get her 3rd set of shots :( I didn't like the doctor that saw her today. She yelped when he poked her and there was a lot of blood. It was so sad! Her normal doctor is so careful and good with her! (We won't be going back to the one we saw today, that's for sure!
Stack is as needy as ever. We can't pay any attention to Reggie or Zoey without him crawling into our lap, or on our head...whatever it takes to divert the attention to him! It's pretty funny, and so sweet... he's a little lover boy.
Reggie....well Reggie is grumpy! :) He has been much better with the puppy lately though! She is so intrigued by him, and just wants to play, and usual he's snappy, and growls, but lately he's been much more patient with her! Their really quite cute together :)

Camp = :(

This week is not a fun one in our household! Shawn left for a camp detail on Friday and won't be back til late Thursday night! I do okay for the first couple days, but by Sunday, I'm BORED OUT OF MY MIND! I have cleaned every inch of this house...twice now and I've gone through too many to-do lists to count! I need to stay busy with something, so blogging it is!
The next few days will be busy for me, as this week is deadline for the September issue, and hopefully by the end of the week, we will have a location for the day spa. However, this is not the first time we've hoped this, it just seems to be a longer process than we'd like! BUT we WILL get there! And once we do it will be great!
It's going to be called "Dolce Vita Day Retreat", and we will have massage therapy (of course), facials, hair, nails, hypnotherapy, hcg weight loss, spray tanning, image and wellness coaching, a mini bistro, and my project for the last couple weeks has been creating our custom skin care and mineral make up line! I've got the skin care done and I'm trying out the products on myself (in case something goes horribly wrong) heehee! A Day In The Life...

Hey everyone!
Since finishing the blog, I've been taking a TON more pictures. Everything we do, I think, "I should take some pictures and post them!" :) Ya'll might not think they're as cute and exciting as we do but here are some pictures of our babies!

Here is Reggie! It's kind of a weird picture...he's a grumpy old man these days and it a bit camera shy so he was just getting up to go hide in the kitchen when I snapped this one.

This is Stackhouse trying to get Zoey to play with him! She was tuckered out and just wanted to sleep and he wasn't taking no for an answer!

This is my favorite! Zoey LOVES to chew on everything and when we play with her she rolls onto her back and chomps on our fingers! Shawn says she looks like a bat in this picture, but I think she looks like "Stich" from Lilo and Stitch :) haha!

She can be so mean one minute and then the next she gives you this look and you can't possibly be mad! :)

This one cracks me up as well! This is Shawn and Stackhouse watching ESPN. It's not a pose...Stack would sit like that forever if Shawn would let him, but it's already warm down here in Arizona without a huge dog in your lap! :)

Recent Picture...

I have searched high and low for a recent picture of Shawn and I, and on the rare occasion that we're both in the picture together, one of us is doing something strange... So, I chose one of my favorites. The look on his face is priceless. This was on our last visit home to Idaho (Shawn was learning how to rope!) :)

I feel like a crappy friend! I just checked my myspace page last night and discovered that my dear friend Christal sent me a comment on June 17th and I somehow missed it! Christal and I worked together and Rosetta Assisted Living while I was attending Massage Therapy School and while Shawn was away at the Border Patrol Academy. She is one of the funniest people I know but also the most genuine! Christal recently signed on with the army as a nurse (which she will be fabulous at) which she went into July 11th! Good luck girl! We'll be praying for you! <3
